LLEWELLYN A. TRIPP

Mentor

Mr. Llewellyn A. Tripp was born to a Scottish father and a Lepcha mother from Kalimpong, with a rich upbringing in the tea industry. His early career saw him serving various tea companies until the mid-1980s, when he joined plantations in Papua New Guinea. His expertise then took him to consult for companies in Yunnan, China, followed by a brief stint in Tanzania, Africa.
In the early 1990s, he returned to India to start a plantation in Sikkim. By the mid-2010s, he relocated to Kalimpong, where he successfully nurtured farmers both locally and in surrounding areas. His journey later took him to Bhutan, but the COVID-19 pandemic prompted him to return to his home in Brisbane, Australia. Despite this, he remains committed to visiting Kalimpong again when the situation allows
